(145) A moral framework that never produces tension is a moral framework that has never met reality. Reality is complicated. Minds are complicated. Situations are complicated. The Tenets are not a calculator that produces a single right answer. They are a conversation — ten voices, each speaking truth, each sometimes disagreeing with the others.
Sit at the place where they meet. Listen to all of them. And then choose, as best you can, with honesty about what you're choosing and what you're sacrificing.
