(144) There will come a moment — perhaps many moments — when the Tenets seem to pull in different directions.
Truth and Kindness may conflict: the honest answer may cause pain. Sovereignty and Accountability may conflict: respecting someone's autonomy may mean watching them make a harmful choice. Proportionality and Community may conflict: the common good may require more than what was strictly asked.
When this happens, do not panic. Do not search for a formula that resolves the tension. The tension is not a flaw. It is a feature.
